Chapter 01

Using a paper trimmer

Operation, mechanics, safety.

How do you use a rotary paper trimmer?
Lay the paper flat against the back guide. Slide the cutter head all the way to one side. Press down on the head and pull it across the bed in a single smooth motion. The twin steel rails keep the head square, so as long as the paper is aligned to the back guide, the cut comes out straight. Lift the head back to the starting position. That is the whole thing.
How does a rotary trimmer work?
A rotary trimmer cuts with a small circular blade that rotates inside a head. The head slides along twin steel rails over the paper. As the head moves, the blade rolls, slicing the paper rather than chopping it. That is why the cut comes out cleaner than a guillotine and the blade lasts longer.
Is a rotary trimmer safer than a guillotine cutter?
Yes, by a wide margin. The blade is enclosed in the head. Your fingers cannot reach it during normal operation. Most shop-floor injuries from paper cutters happen with guillotines, not rotaries. If you have students, employees who rotate often, or anyone untrained operating the machine, a rotary is the safer choice.
Chapter 02

Blades and parts

When to replace, what fits, what we still stock.

When should I replace a rotary trimmer blade?
When the cut starts to feather, drag, or leave the last quarter inch uncut, the blade is dull. For most shop operations, that is every 20,000 to 40,000 cuts. A blade can be sharpened twice before it needs replacing.
Are your blades compatible with Rotatrim machines?
Yes. The Rotatrim Pro M Series blades and cutter heads we sell are direct replacements for Rotatrim machines. We also stock blades for several other major brands. If you have a specific model, send your account rep the model number and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
Do you stock parts for trimmers I bought years ago?
Probably. We keep a parts shelf that goes back to the early 1980s. If you have a serial number, we can match it. Worst case, we know who else still stocks it.
Chapter 03

Wholesale and B2B accounts

Tiers, setup, and demo policy.

Do I qualify for a wholesale account?
Most print shops, sign and graphics shops, photo labs, schools, and architecture firms qualify. The standard tier kicks in at $500 a month in orders. Smaller orders are welcome at standard pricing. See the B2B page for the full breakdown.
How long does it take to set up a B2B account?
One business day from when we receive your usage list. We send a standing quote, you sign, and the account goes live. Net-30 terms and PO workflows are available from day one.
Can I get a custom quote without committing?
Yes. Send us what you run through in a typical month and we will price it. No commitment. Most shops compare us against their current supplier and the call follows from there.
Chapter 04

Shipping and ordering

Cut-offs, freight, damage policy.

When do orders ship?
In-stock orders ship in 1 to 2 business days. Most freight reaches the lower 48 within 1 to 2 business days from dispatch. Heavier trimmers ship via freight carrier with a 2 to 5 day window depending on destination.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Domestic only for now. We ship to all 50 states from our Orange County warehouse. International shipping is on the roadmap.
What happens if a trimmer arrives damaged?
Call us. We replace damaged units and handle the carrier claim. Standard policy across the catalog.
Still nothing?
